Atlanta, GA – January 16, 2020 – Atlanta Speedwerks will be competing in their second year of racing Honda Civic TCR’s in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series, and have finalized their driver lineups. Joining the team for the first time, Bryan Ortiz and Nikko Reger will pilot the #94 Civic, while Brian Henderson and Todd Lamb will be back for their second year in the #84 Civic.

Bryan Ortiz and Nikko Reger may be new to the team, but they are no stranger to the podium. Both drivers are Global MX-5 Cup Champions – Reger in 2018 and Ortiz in 2019 – while Reger also competed in IMSA’s Prototype Challenge series in 2019. The pairing are looking forward to competing in a very competitive TCR field in the 4-hour BMW Endurance Challenge at Daytona.

“I am looking forward to the season and a new opportunity after a very strong 2019” said Ortiz. “Having a very strong teammate in Nikko, a dedicated team in Atlanta Speedwerks, and knowing there are big chances to fight for the win is what racing is all about. I can’t wait to be behind the wheel again and continue to represent Bella Group brands at the highest level of racing in the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series.”

Nikko Reger: “I’m super excited to get rolling with Atlanta Speedwerks next week. There is a lot to learn about the TCR Civic, and the competition is strong in the IMSA series. Having raced wheel to wheel against Bryan in the past, I can tell you from experience I am glad we are on the same team now and not racing against one another!”

Brian Henderson and Todd Lamb return to the Michelin Pilot Challenge for the second straight season, after leading numerous races in 2019. Henderson commented on the season opener: “I am eager and looking forward to getting back to Daytona to kick off the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Season with Atlanta Speedwerks.” The pairing had success leading during the closing stint of last year’s Daytona race and look to expand on that. “I learned so much last year about front wheel drive, and I’ve been working hard in the off-season to be fully prepared for this year. Coming off of last season, I am confident in our team and our equipment.”

This year IMSA’s internationally-homologated TCR class features an entry list of 18 cars, which is up from 14 in 2019. The TCR cars will take the green flag at 1:10pm on Friday January 24th for their 4-hour race.
